ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea in light of what Daniel Tammet has to say about how he deals with the drawbacks of autism in "Born on a Blue Day. Tammet has to practice interacting socially by concentrating on mechanical things like maintaining eye contact. The DVD seems to help kids practice the mechanics of reading facial expression. If the DVD can helps children practice and master reading facial expressions, then it will succeed in equipping them with a tool to overcome their disability in social situations.
I think this article is a relevant source to the potential factors children can be facing in school. I can certainly agree to the "quick answer" everyone wants to have now a days when researching things. I also see a relevance to the lack of patience the internet has caused us. We always seem to want the very first answer we can find instead of working through the material to eliminate any thing that is not relevant to what we need to find.
